How Six Dollars Can Change Your Life!

Yes is true. Six bucks can change your life. It's a small investment to make for significant life change, don't you agree? And guess what, I am going to reveal it to you for FREE. That's right FREE! You won't have to send me anything, you won't have to buy anything from me. All you need to do is take your six bucks and follow the instructions that follow.
Okay, I admit, the intro was a cheap trick. But sincere. You've seen introductions like that before that ask you to send money here or there. Invest in this or that. This is what I want you to do with your money. Take your six dollars, put it in your pocket, go down to a local discount book store and buy a book. Better yet, take your six dollars, put it in your pocket, and go to the local library and keep your money. Why? Because the turn around you are seeking doesn't lie within any investment you have to make. The turnaround lies within you. You just need to have the right tools to make it happen.
I'm not saying that paying for self help material is not a good investment. Quite the contrary, it can be a great investment. What I am saying is that don't underestimate the value of the bookstore or the library.
A few weeks ago I was in Dallas and happened to go to one of my favorite places - the Half Price Bookstore on Northwest Highway. Those that live in Dallas know this is an absolutely massive store of discount books, records, calendars, software, DVD and the likes. While there, I browsed the business and self help section. For five dollars I picked up Zig Ziglar's classic, "See You at the Top." and for another four bucks I picked up his new book, "Better than Good."
These two books alone, when read, AND APPLIED, have the power to turn your life around. As I looked through thousands of books, I came across many of the classics - Stephen Covey, Maxwell Maltz, Dan Kennedy, Dale Carnegie, Les Brown, Tony Robbins, Tom Hopkins - any many, many more and each book could be bought for less than 6 dollars. It occured to me that many people parted with these treasures without knowing the true value of each. They received a pittance in trade-in value compared to the value the book could have on their lives.
In fact in one of the books that I bought, there was a note from the recipient's grandmother written with the hope that the book would turn his life around. Unfortunately the book was in mint condition - no pages were earmarked, no passages highlighted, underlined or notated. It was as though the young man that received the book took it directly to the store to trade in for the monetary value.
His loss, my gain. How will you invest your six dollars?
